Surely there must be exceptions to this rule? I can think of some possibilities! Off to google I go…

Apple Mighty Mouse

It’s the Mighty Mouse! Da da-da DA! Most people who use the Mighty Mouse (which, let me stop right here to say that I adore the Mighty Mouse, more than any other mouse in the world) know that one of the major flaws is that the center wheel is prone to sticking, rendering scrolling impossible, or in the very least, tricky like weasel wrestling. If you are like me, only being able to scroll up, or down, really really sucks when you are used to being able to scroll 360 degrees! Any direction! Awesome!

Back to the point, which, I swear, is not to sell you a Mighty Mouse, but to inform you of a neat little trick that someone told me to fix this flaw.

Every time your wheel gets stuck, refusing to satisfy your scrolling needs, simply take one of those pre-moistened cleaning towelettes and lay it on a flat surface. Then take your Mighty Mouse, flip it upside-down and roll the mouse top on the towelette, making sure the area with the wheel is in contact. Roll gently in all directions for several seconds. Flip over and test wheel, as sometimes it may need to be done a second time, but this has never failed to fix my wheel and I have happily had the same Mighty Mouse for almost a year now!

Never before seen shots of seemlingly innocent and gorgeous Marilyn Monroe circa 1950 when she was only 24 years old has been posted on Life.com. Taken before she hit it big, she looks so fresh and real. Love them, but this is my favorite shot of the group, in which Marilyn seems completely unaware of her beauty the slight naughtiness of this pose.

Up

Nothing is more interesting to me than getting to see behind the curtain and in a recent blog post by Lou Romano, an Art Director/Illustrator who got to work on the Disney/Pixar movie Up, he rains down all sorts of project development goodness: not only showing painting after painting that helped to inform the look and feel of Up, but also several short video animations that are just plain enjoyable to watch. If you have ever been curious about what goes into making such masterpieces, then check out what I am sure is just a small smattering of the artwork that Lou shares at his blog!

I could even guess (and probably rightly so) that most of those comments come from other women.

Way to support sexual liberation ladies!

Obviously this chick is having a good time and being who she wants to be and I will support anyone like that, especially if it pushes boundaries or makes people consider things they never have before. Lady Gaga is unlikely to do any of those, being mainstream and all, but currently, I think she is probably the most sexually liberated mainstream icon there is. A woman in command of who she is and what she wants. Go sister!

Why is it so hard to complete a daisy chain? You get to the end and you either have to make a ridiculously big hole for the daisy head to go through, complete with petals. Or you make a normal sized hole, and either pick off all the petals, or attempt to squeeze the head & petals through and end up pulling off the petals anyway. Or you tie it and the stem breaks!

I also find it disturbing that when you google “daisy chain” not all the results are about the pretty little flowers in your garden…
